There’s no job too small for dental implants.

The loss of a single tooth can gravely affect your smile and function.   On top of that, to replace the missing tooth, traditional dentistry would remove the healthy teeth to either side of the missing tooth and then replace the entire section with a three-crown “bridge”, or worse still, a removable denture.

Dental implants are changing this process. Instead of cutting down two perfectly healthy teeth, we instead insert a single dental implant into the jawbone to replace your missing tooth root.   Once this becomes solidly integrated into your jaw (2-6 months) we place an abutment and crown onto it.   This crown looks and feels like your natural tooth, and doesn’t disrupt the healthy teeth you still have.

The process for replacing a single missing tooth:

  • A dental implant is placed in the jaw bone to replace the missing tooth root.   The implant remains covered underneath the gum for approximately 2 to 6 months while the bone grows to the titanium.
  • The implant is uncovered and an extension is attached, creating a foundation for your new tooth.
  • Your new tooth is placed on the abutment.   This tooth will be crafted to the optimal size, shape, color and fit to blend with your natural teeth.
  • Two implants can be used to replace three teeth.
